TikTok is partnering with Audius, a music streaming service, to give artists a new way to upload their music. According to reports, TikTok Sounds will allow artists to export music from Audius to TikTok in just a few clicks.
Audius, a music streaming service based on blockchain, is unlike SoundCloud or Spotify because it's completely decentralized.
In July, TikTok released a study showing that 75% of its US users discover new artists.
TikTok has selected it as its first partner to offer its Sound Kit functionality, enabling seamless integration of songs with the video-centric app. TikTok users can now embed their songs into videos posted by Audius artists, potentially exposing them to a vast audience.
Audius now has more than 100,000 artists on its platform, including well-known bands and artists and independent and upcoming musicians.
